We started by investing our own money as Newport Private Wealth's first clients (then known as Newport Partners). If you've been expecting more,we've been expecting you. We started Newport Private Wealth, in 2001, because we saw both a need and an opportunity.We had been senior wealth management professionals at various financial institutions, serving high net worth clients and managing our own families' investments.We grew increasingly frustrated with what we perceived to be inherent conflicts of interest within the traditional industry models, institutional bureaucracy and a mass production approach to investments and client service.In our view, there was simply no provider that was doing an optimal job of meeting all the needs a high net worth family has for independent and unbiased advice; access to top investment managers; true diversification; access to high quality private investments; and ideas and solutions that are based on a 'wide angle' view of wealth.So, we decided to build a firm from a client's perspective.
